With the exception of a SS gift, I will no longer be posting my work to dA.
However, this doesn't mean I'm leaving. I will still be keeping up with the artists I watch, and will be on the lookout for more inspiring work. At the present moment, I'm not yet sure where I will share my work; I'm trying to decide between tumblr or another form of blog.
I don't expect this to impact many people because I don't even have that many watchers to begin with, but I will be sure to post a link to my new corner of the web for those who are actually interested.
I appreciate all the support and feedback I've received in regard to my work.
And for those wondering "why" - let's just say I had a revelation recently about my identity as an artist. With 2013 looming around the corner, and the energies so wonderfully active at this time of year, I realized I needed a change. This is only part of the change... but it's a necessary one, and one I hope will bring me much more satisfaction as an artist from here on out.
Who knows? Maybe something will change in the future that will bring me back to dA. But I've always felt a little out-of-place here, and what with this site becoming fandom central, I feel like my own work is better suited for someplace different.

Tomorrow's my last day of class for fall quarter, which means lovely break until early January.
I'm excited as hell, because breaks are always nice, but there's so much I want to get done over the next month and a half, and I'm afraid that I won't be as productive. I may have to get serious with myself for once... because last time I was on break (summer), I had a list of things I wanted to do, and - well - you can guess what happened.
A month and a half isn't a lot of time. And with Thanksgiving and Yule to worry about - meaning food and family - I'll have even less time than I anticipated. I don't want to assign myself something specific to do each day, but I'm not sure how else I can keep on track with everything. I've got plenty of artsy stuff I'd like to work on, including gifts and personal work... and then there's my writing (speaking of which, my Nano project went in a completely different direction again... sigh), and, of course, a little bit of gaming, which I don't have much time to do during school. Oh - and I REALLY need to clean my room. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to get rid of, and it's starting to get quite cluttered in here. Plus, I have to do something about my mighty pile of school projects in my closet, because each quarter that passes only causes it to grow...
Probably a lot of spiders in here that I'm not aware of.
Jeezus. I haven't submitted something here since August.
Usually I'm very picky about what I submit... I like to do more "finished" works, rather than sketches and doodles mixed in. But maybe it's time I loosen up and stop thinking of dA as a professional portfolio - because it's not.
Hope all are well, and that finals aren't turning you all into zombies.

First off, happy Samhain/Halloween, everyone.
I'll be spending mine in front of Supernatural and oracle cards once I get home from class. Lol.
It's been a little hectic on this end. Just hanging in there for two and a half more weeks... then fall quarter will be done. I do miss making my own art, and classes have inspired me to go in so many different directions, so I want to get experimental over break.
Aside from trying to dish out the motivation to beast final projects, I've been trying to center my thoughts on the novel I'm writing for Nanowrimo. This is the first year that I'm jumping in without much plot or character development. It'll be a good exercise for me to write and not focus on the quality. This is my fifth year of Nano - and I'm just as excited. If you're also participating and would like to add me, my username is phineas.riley.

I want my gift to be... a digital or traditional drawing.
In my gift I'd like to see... An OC of mine: either Orpheus, Xehebel, or Evaah (whoever my SS is most drawn to).

I only have a headshot of him, but know that he dresses in black and gold, and is kind of a "messiah" character.
I will be willing to give... a digital or traditional drawing/illustration of human characters. I prefer OCs, but I can make wiggle room for other characters if it comes to it. My style is best suited for androgynous chars or females (in other words, not overly masculine chars).

I'll no longer be posting artwork relating to OCs or any of my stories.
I have serious intentions of publishing, and since 99% of my OCs are related to novels or other stories, I want to ensure that my creations remain my own.
I've been thinking about this for a while, and decided that I should go through with it while I'm still unknown. Fortunately, I have around 50 watchers - only a few of which are actually interested in my stuff - so it shouldn't be a big deal.
I already deleted several deviations fitting this category.
Apologies if anyone actually cared, but you gotta do what you gotta do to ensure your stuff remains protected.
